YAY it’s the weekend and time to get out and play. We went for a walk after dinner tonight to a nearby park to take some more frost shots. I told you I love the frost, it makes everything pretty, lol.

Have a great weekend everyone. I hope you will get a chance to smile, laugh and have some fun.

The one thing I love about winter, besides the snow of course, is frost!! Oh yeah and frozen waterfalls too, but today is about frost.  It is so beautiful, one of those stop and smell the roses sorts of things, or in this case stop and take a closer look.

Karisa has been on of my best friends since junior high school. We have been through a lot together and she is an amazing person.  I was so happy when I heard the news that her and Jason got engaged. He is a great guy and they completely complement each other.  I am thrilled to be able to take some engagements photos for them. These photos were taken June 2009 in Edmonton, AB.  They got married on August 8, 2009 and are now expecting their first baby, Baby Mackey.  I am so excited for this amazing couple and can’t wait to see what exciting things the future holds for them.

This is a photo from December. I was so excited when I got it. It is my first snowflake macro.

I am spending my lunch hour playing around with my blog and adding widgets and changing colors.  YAY!! I wish I could do this all day.  Unfortunately I can’t do it all day :(.

I will continue after work, I found some really cool themes.  Be ready for some exciting new changes coming soon.

It is Sunday night and I am pretty tired from the busy weekend. I am thinking that coffee might be a necessity tomorrow morning.  Good night and good morning everyone.

I love this! I got it as a house warming gift from my Mom. it is a Selenite lamp. It reminds me of a big crystal or glacier. This was shot with the light inside on.

Selenite is a form of fibrous and crystallized gypsum. Selenite is 70% water and will dissolve it left in water.

The word Selenite comes from the Greek word for Moon and means moon rock.

I went to Nova Scotia in June 2008. All the shops sold pewter items including jewelry and ornaments. There are even entire stores devoted to only selling pewter. Of course I had to buy a few pieces of handcrafted Nova Scotian pewter. I bought a star fish and sand dollar.

The sand dollar is 4cm or 1.5″ across

The starfish is 4cm or 1.5″ across

Pewter is an alloy of tin, copper and antimony and requires little care to maintain its lustre. It will not tarnish, but may need an occasional cleaning if handled frequently. Wash in warm soapy water with a soft cloth. A paste of baking soda and water is also a good cleaner.
